Tomorrow will be Christmas Eve. It is celebrated in nearly every nation around the world. Today people are concerned about using the terms, "Merry Christmas" thinking it may be politically incorrect and offend those who are not Christian and yet we fail to realize that we celebrate Thanksgiving but don't find it offensive to those who are not native to this country, nor do we find Memorial Day or Veteran's Day celebrations, parades and holidays to be offensive to those who are pacifists. Why then Christmas? Maybe because it has such profound effect on many people as they get caught up in the giving spirit, celebrating spirit, grateful spirit, family spirit.
It is said, "all hearts come home on Christmas." but those who are Christian realize this world is really only a temporary home. To those who aren't believers I would suggest one activity to really do in the new year.
MAY YOU DISCOVER WHO YOUR DADDY REALLY IS.
Not your worldly father but your spiritual Father and if you don't believe you have one then I would ask you to research broadly and discover WHY you believe there is no God, no spiritual Father who has deliberately paved a path to salvation, no reason to believe in something bigger than yourself. I encourage you to find proof by resurrecting as much key evidence as you can. After all, if you are not convinced, you can at least be specific about the reasons you remain without faith.
You see, Christians realize one thing. This series of stories and letters which is over 2,000 years old and has been translated into every language has had a profound impact on the world. It is the most read book in all the world. If it had simply been a convenient fairy tale there would be no major interest in continuing to translate it for others and few would still be using the verses and stories as practical advice for today. Something that is not real or full of holes is generally treated as a myth and read as a tall tale or fairy tale. Today it is the basis for numerous religions, is used to swear in political figures or promise truthful testimony in trial and is still the most quoted book of all time. Do you know any quotes that have sustained this type of longevity from Cinderella or Rapunzel...hardly!
Image via WikipediaSo read or look into the things you have major questions about. Go to groups where you can challenge Christians to explain why they believe. Be pro-active in your efforts to prove yourself correct, prove there is no Divine Being, no heaven and no God and perhaps if you really go through with the effort, in your search you might discover something you little suspected...who your daddy really is.
So let's review and wrap up the 12 MAYS of CHRISTMAS and get on with the eggnog and the caroling and the reindeer games, but not forget this did not transpire because a glass slipper did not fit or a nose grew too long or because someone's avatar was in trouble...We celebrate Christmas because over 2000 years ago a miracle happened and all because one little baby arrived.

You could spend your day contemplating the issues that face everyone...the issues about politics, freedoms, religion, health, finances, relationships...the nitty gritty of life.
Or you can be part of something bigger. You can follow and comment from a perspective unique to you.
Lots of blogs are the writer's perspective, but I am hoping that you will become a vital participate in the adventure I want to offer you at http://thislittlechristiangoestomarket.wordpress.com/
I am not looking for pat comments although I certainly won't oppose them. I am looking for insights, answers, more questions and suggestions. I want to know how you personally see an issue and what your views are about it. I know that those of us who are Christian are asked to look at the world through the len's of a Christian worldview and I hope we can do that by letting those who don't have the same lens at least take a look at the world and voice their perspective.
One person's issues and concerns may not hold the same meaning to another and yet doesn't God want us to hear each other out, listen to one another's opinion, consider our fellow man's needs and plights and above all, accept one another as children of God? If He is the creator of the universe, that means He created those that do not share the same perspective.
I will continue to develop ONE MORE SERVING's blog with what I hope you find is wonderful information and purpose, but I would also ask you to join me in responding to the real life questions I know you ask daily at
http://thislittlechristiangoestomarket.wordpress.com..

SEE YOU IN THE MARKETPLACE.http://thislittlechristiangoestomarket.wordpress.com
There is was again...that sneaking little message, "searching for signal" that my cable company employs whenever the weather or another circumstance interrupts programming.
Sometimes I can completely understand how something disrupts "regularly scheduled programming." I usually am annoyed and sometimes completely frustrated but I must admit that sometimes what is searching for a signal is ...ME!
Did you ever wonder what you were really supposed to do with your life? Ever wonder how you would handle an unexpected detour or unforgiving experience? Have you ever felt like every way you turned presented some obstacle and there was no clear path in sight? I know I have. I have often been "searching for a signal."
Sometimes we look for a sign or signal in the encouraging or discouraging words of others or perhaps you have searched via dreams, websites, support groups, counseling or any combination of those things. Sometimes you might even have searched through prayer.
But how do we know that what we think is a signal or sign is really that? How do you know that the signal you receive is one you should give your attention to? Haven't you ever followed what you thought was a sign and then became even more confused or unsure of any direction to go? In Jeremiah 29:11, God tells his people, "for I know the plans I have for you. Plans for you to prosper and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." I have always loved that verse and yet some days I wonder why God just doesn't make those plans so apparent that I will be guaranteed to know them.
It's then that I realize I often see what I am looking for; what I want rather than what hope not to see. Sometimes, our signals are not ones we dreamed, hoped or prayed for and yet they might be the very signal we were supposed to get. Some of the stories I told in ONE MORE SERVING http://www.onemoreserving.com are the results of signals that were not necessarily ones hoped or searched for but ones that needed heeding and required action. A minister at a church I attend says we should not necessarily pray for a miracle but rather for an opportunity. Given that we always want what we want, maybe it is difficult to see a signal that is not what we expected. But, if God has our best interests at heart and knows His plans for us, would it not be unfortunate to disregard a signal that could change our lives by God's standards rather than ours.
While I will continue the venue of this blog, I will be launching a new blog site soon, talking about the more controversial issues in our world and hoping to gain a perspective from all readers whether Christian or not, because sometimes in our search for signals, we must be open minded to find God not in our box but in His world. I hope you will also join me there. Coming soonhttp://thislittlechristiangoestomarket.wordpress.com/
I hope you will join me there an offer comments, suggestions and real discussion.
How about you? Are you still searching for a signal? Did you follow a signal you received or are you trying to ignore one you wish you never recognized?
